An Italian watchdog has fined Apple USD $1.2 millions (900,000 euros, £750,000) for its handling of customer guarantees.

The country’s Antitrust Authority said Apple had did not inform shoppers of their legal right to two years’ technical support, recognising instead only a one-year customary warranty.

It said the firm’s action had led individuals to pay additional for Apple’s own support service, that overlapped partly with the free guarantee.
